AWHEEL ON THE KARSY
In the 1950s Walsham-le-Willows had a village hall which, although not the envy of the world, was a fitting tribute to those who gave their lives in both World Wars, and served the community nicely.
Over the yers it has been lovingly tended to try and keep the ravagesof time at bay, and in 2011 work finally began on a large refurbishment project. An extension was added, the main hall enlarged and a garden was developed on ne side. Unfortunately available money did not stretch to making comfort stops comfortablle.
As a result Ian decided that he would launch himself on another of his cycling marathons to raise money towards the cost of restructuring the toilet facilities and so the Kumffy Karsy Kwest came into being.
Having purchased himself a new saddle, to keep the rear end in pristine condition, Ian set off on a loop which should have taken him along the Rhein, Danube and Vistula before finding his way home from Gdansk (or Danzig as so many people, whom Ian met) called it.)
Having returned in one piece (just), Ian has compiled the diary of his ride - in words and pictures - in the hope of raising further money for the comfort and well-being of the residents of Walsham-le-Willows, and others, who might use the Village Hall.
